We wish your child a speedy recovery!
Below we describe once again how you, as the the legal guardian, should proceed if your child is sick:
YOUR CHILD FEELS ILL IN THE MORNING…
…then of course we still wish you a speedy recovery!
Please note that in the event of an infectious disease, special measures must be taken at the school (keyword ‘pandemic’).
Please note that the above steps must be followed, otherwise the days of absence will be considered unexcused and will be noted on the report card!
1. ON THE FIRST DAY OF ILLNESS
Please do NOT send your child to school!
Inform the school before 8:00 am (i.e. ideally around 7:30/45 am) and the school caterer Luna by 6:00 pm the day before that your child will not be coming to school.
This can be done via several communication channels:
Option 1: Send an email with brief information about the symptoms of the illness
to krankmeldung@qbgs.de with the subject line ‘[Name of your child] & [class]’.
Option 2: You can use the contact form to report sick here on the website (see above).
We recommend consulting a doctor during the morning (e.g. for a diagnosis and appropriate treatment) and to determine whether the disease is contagious or not.
2. ON THE THIRD DAY OF ILLNESS
If the condition has not improved and your child is still unable to go to school, we recommend that you take the child to a doctor on that day at the latest and find out why the condition is not improving.
Here we ask for a certificate from the doctor confirming the illness and, if necessary, indicating how long the child will be absent.
3. ON THE DAY OF RETURN TO SCHOOL
Please remember to give your child a written excuse stating the reason for the absence (illness). You can also attach the medical certificate. This is then given to the class teacher (and not to the secretariat).
