OUR RULES
We are happy to welcome the children from the catchment area to the monolingual regular branch of our school.
The children are taught in a homogeneous class group according to the guidelines, framework curricula and the timetable for the regular classes of the Berlin Senate Administration. We are thus a reliable half-day primary school. Due to our rhythmization concept, classes take place from 8:00 a.m. until 2:25 p.m. at the latest. Supervision modules can be added before or after classes. The tjfbg (Technische Jugendfreizeit und Bildungsgesellschaft) is in charge of the SPB (educational support) for the bilingual European school branch as well as for the regular school branch. An after-school care voucher is required for this.
As one school, we are located with the European and regular branch organizationally and spatially in one school building. The teachers of our school teach in both branches. The children can participate in the English-language AG (after school) program and are in constant contact with the pupils of the European School, e.g. in the school yard, at school events and in the after school care area. There they are also supervised by English-speaking educators. Many school events are conducted bilingually. Our Förderverein offers English lessons in the regular branch from the first grade on. Early English is started from grade 3. From grade 5, English is the first foreign language for our children.
The regular school branch at QBGS is embedded in a colorful, multicultural and German-English environment. The close proximity to the Biesalski School, with its physical and motor skills focus, complements the inclusive learning environment. Various school-wide events and celebrations allow for a high degree of social inclusion and identity with the school location at Hüttenweg.
