JOBS

As a state school in Berlin, the application process for non-teaching staff and teachers is handled by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family Affairs.

The following advertisements have been published for this purpose:

NON-TEACHING STAFF

The school administration is a fundamental part of our school. The secretary and the administrative manager take care of many organisational processes and support the school management. The caretaker is also crucial in ensuring that the school runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

Our support association also recruits interested individuals who would like to assist with everyday school life. If a vacancy becomes available, e.g. in the library, we will post the information here.

New secretary wanted (native English speakers very welcome)!
We urgently need support from August 2026 onwards!

The new school year begins for us in the last week of the summer holidays (i.e. 17 August 2026): the first staff meeting needs to be prepared, new class lists need to be drawn up and student files created. In addition, school certificates are issued and language tests scheduled. All of this takes place in the school office, among other places.

Unfortunately, our office will be vacant for approximately one year starting on 17 August 2026, which is why we are urgently looking for a cheerful person who would like to support us in our day-to-day school administration tasks. Prior knowledge of school structures is not essential – we will be happy to show and explain everything to you.
However, what is important for this position is enjoying working with and for children, an affinity for structure and order, the ability to maintain an overview even in stressful situations, and, since we receive daily enquiries in both German and English at the SESB location, good or confident language skills in both languages.

If this sounds interesting, we look forward to receiving an email with the subject line ‘Secretariat’. We are happy to assist with the application process, which is handled by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family Affairs.

P.S. Our job application is currently only for one year, but since many schools in Berlin operate without secretaries, there is a very high chance of it becoming permanent! The application process and the decision in the application process are handled centrally by the Senate Administration.

INTERNSHIP / FSJ

To gain initial experience in the day-to-day work of a school’s human resources department, you are welcome to do an internship or voluntary social year with us.

EDUCATIONAL STAFF

There are two employers at our school: the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family Affairs and the Technische Jugendfreizeit- und Bildungsgesellschaft (TJFBG).
Below is a more detailed description of how and where to apply.

TEACHERS

Teachers who would like to teach at our school and are already under contract with the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family Affairs are welcome to send an email with a cover letter and CV to our school management: schulleitung@quentin-blake.schule.berlin.de

Teachers who are not employed by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family Affairs must apply centrally. The application process is explained in detail on the Senate Department’s website:

Our head educator (see contact persons) will be happy to provide further information and, if necessary, assist with the application process if our school is your preferred place of employment.
